Had the Mac in the living room hooked up to the 53" FireTV in the meantime. I also do video/editing preproduction but was thinking about moving to 4K production.Oh man, I just moved in with the misses a few months ago and just barely got my desk/studio setup a couple weeks ago. Those Radeon cards can be had easily for $100 and should cover my needs. I also do video/editing preproduction but was thinking about moving to 4K production. Of course MacOS still looks the same.Perfect. It was a night and day improvement there hehehe. Bonus for me, I DO play games on here occasionally and the new card let Battletech run at full 4k graphics like liquid. Any of the RX5xx's should be able to handle those I would think. Works great except you no longer get a boot screen cause its not an Apple card. I picked up an MSI Armor edition 4GB Radeon RX570 for like $90 including shipping off of eBay. But they were also pros who couldnt really afford possible downtime and all that and had work to do. I know guys that were still running OS 8.6 when OS X came out because their old Pro Tools systems 'just worked' and got their jobs done. Well you don't NEED it really unless you have some crucial piece of software or hardware that requires it to be honest.
